Lee
Lee Roy Selmon blends the merits of football scholarship in his family with community service. He is the youngest child of Lucious Selmon, and Jessie Selmon. They raised him on the family farm near Eufala. He played second in football and was one of three brothers who were players for Oklahoma. Three of them were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award as well as the Lombardi Award for being the best lineman in the country. For the three seasons that Roy played as a player, Oklahoma won two National Championships. A third scholarship saw him named as a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon received his bachelor's degree in education. Fourth service In college Lee Roy devoted ten hours per week to volunteer projects. After college he settled in Tampa played nine years with the Buccaneers was all-pro three times and started an entrepreneurial career. In 1988, he was an Account Relations officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He also worked with the following organizations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There was no doubt that, in 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy one of ten outstanding young people across the nation. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and was a tall of 7-foot-2. In his time at college, he was the captain of the team of 1975. He was hired by the University of South Florida in 1993, as associate director of sports. In 1993, the College Football Hall of Fame named him on the 28th of October, the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame In 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame, in 1995. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave the Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. The award ceremony was conducted by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
