Taylor
Taylor Swift, the rarest pop phenomenon is a star who was able to transcend across the border between country music and mainstream pop culture and became an iconic figure in the pop world. Swift also swept the entire globe through her music. Swift removed herself from the roots of country she grew up with as if it's second-nature, showing that she is one of the top pop singers and songwriters in the current generation. Swift could make the moment personal while also capturing the mood. The skills she displayed were apparent on her early hits including the neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album in 2008's Fearless was a showcase of a songwriter discovering her true identity and, in doing so, gaining the mass market. The album was the biggest hit, but not just within the U.S., with six platinum-certified songs thanks to the Top Ten songs Love Story and the hit song You Belong with Me. It also did well internationally in areas like the U.K. Canada & Australia. Swift could build on her popularity with Speak Now almost two year later. Her popularity only increased over her next three albums -Reputation (2017), Red (2012) and 1989 (2014) Red (2012) 1989 (2014) as well as Reputation (2017) Reputation (2017) which saw her moving confidently into a pop realm where she belonged. Even when she scaled back her style with the 2020's stripped-down sibling releases folklore and Evermore she was still atop the pop world a position she defended with the re-recordings the back catalogue, along with Midnights and her chart-topping, synth-heavy 2022 collection.
