Kelly Clarkson was an American musician and singer who became the America's sweetheart when she won American Idol in the first season. It was not just the winning that ushered Kelly Clarkson to fame and fortune, but it also secured her an agreement to RCA Records 19 Recordings & "S Records" for a series of albums. From her first appearance, she released numerous albums. From those, three reached number one on the US Billboard 200. The others were near the top. Her name is among the most successful artists to have sprung from the American Idol series. To be successful she experimented with different genres of music and experimented with subjects. The uniqueness of her voice and singing ability earned her critical acclaim and a number of important prizes. She's been honored with Grammy Awards three times. Grammy Award 3 times. Apart from her singing career, she also has had a stint in TV and film. She is also the author of the children's novel River Rose and the Magical Lullaby and involved with many charitable organizations.
