Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the US and is a writer from Greece, a syndicated journalist and businesswoman. She was a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an author, philanthropist, television host and the owner of The Huffington Post. Her birthplace was in Greece and relocated to England at age 16. When she attended Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in economics. The first ever foreign-born student to serve as president in the famous debate club The Cambridge Union, at 21, she was able to take over the position. She was a conservative syndicated writer after her graduation. When The Huffington Post launched a couple of years following, she launched an online voice platform which offered critiques of the political landscape. Her fame has helped attract a number of famous contributors. Arianna gained fame after she decided in 2003 to stand as an independent Candidate for the California Recall Election to replace the Governor Davis. Additionally, she was involved in an initiative in Detroit that promoted fuel-efficient automobiles. Forbes listed her 12th in its top 10 list of Most Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their top 100 list in the year 2010. AOL purchased The Huffington Post from AOL in the year 2011. In 2012, she became the head of the AOL media group. It was comprised of several AOL owned properties like Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is the daughter of Konstantinos a management advisor and a journalist. Though she shared a close connection to both her father and mother but it was their connection that helped shape her. Even in her formative age, she displayed the qualities of a leader that she is still known for. At 16 years of age she moved to the United Kingdom to pursue her studies and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. She joined the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college and was the third and first female to hold the position of the president. In 1972, she graduated with the degree of Master's in Economics. Following her graduation, she was employed as a critic for a newspaper column and an anchor on TV. She also appeared in an edition of Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books with editorial assistance from Bernard Levin.
