Allison Chinchar, a CNN as well as HLN meteorologist with CNN and HLN. She is often featured as a guest on CNN's HLN Weekend Express and CNN International's HLN New Day Weekend. Prior to joining CNN in the summer of 2015 she served as meteorologist for locale stations like Atlanta, Nashville, and Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was a meteorologist for hurricanes and blizzards as well as flooding, wildfires, and received an Emmy for the coverage she offered of Hurricane Dorian, which hit the Bahamas in the year 2019. In April of 2011 she was a reporter for the super-tornado outbreak in which 350 tornadoes struck Southeastern United States within four days. The worst of them took place on April 27th, 2011. She's reported on weather patterns, climate change and the eruptions of volcanoes and earthquakes as a result of her expertise in environmental science. Chinchar is a graduate of the Bachelors of Science in Atmospheric Science. She graduated from The Ohio State University. Chinchar is also a member of the American Meteorological Society, the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society as well as the National Weather Association, and the International Association of Broadcast Meteorology.
